Seismology and Volcanology Research Meeting 2025

Date: August 28–29, 2025
Venue: Seismology and Volcanology Observation and Research Center, Shimabara

The Seismology and Volcanology Research Meeting was held again this year, marking its fourth edition.

Even within the same institute, daily research exchange can be limited when people belong to different laboratories.

This meeting was launched to bridge those gaps. Although our research goals are often similar, the approaches we take can be quite different. By coming together, we aim to better understand each other’s work and to create new opportunities for collaboration.

This year, discussions were especially lively among younger researchers. Many sessions continued well beyond their scheduled time—a unique feature of this meeting, where participants can keep exchanging ideas until everyone is satisfied.
